Five local bands will perform Friday at a concert to raise money for the Myron family.

The benefit concert begins at 6 p.m. in the Gig Harbor High School gym, 5101 Rosedale St. N.W. Concessions also will be sold.

Admission is a $5 donation. All proceeds will go to the Myron family. Pierce County sheriff’s deputy Allen Myron fatally shot in his in-laws, then killed himself after a standoff with police the night of May 14.

“We feel this is a way our community can come together and help a family in need,” said Abbie Kruse, the 17-year-old primary organizer of the event. “This tragedy has hit home for many of us and we are ready to give back to a family that has impacted so many lives.”
