Auburn police investigate suspicious death

Auburn Police are calling the death of a man in a house in the 100 block of D Street Northwest suspicious, our news partner KIRO-TV reports.

Around noon Saturday, a man who had been asked to check on his neighbor looked into the kitchen window of the residence and saw his 41-year-old neighbor lying on the floor.

Police responded to the home, and when they could not get the man inside to respond, they entered.

Officers discovered the man was dead and that he had injuries which weren’t consistent with a natural death, KIRO said.

The man’s death remains under investigation.

One of the man’s neighbors told KIRO that he heard three large booms the previous night and thought the sounds were gunshots.
