Pierce County sheriff’s deputies are investigating a home invasion-style robbery in Spanaway but do not believe it’s related to a deadly robbery in Edgewood earlier this week.

In today’s incident, two men went to a home in the 1100 block of 151st Street East about 2 p.m., sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer said. The men claimed they were from a landscaping business.

They forced their way inside and used duct tape to tie up at least three victims. One of the victims was pistol whipped, Troyer said.

The suspects were seen leaving in a brown vehicle that appears to have been stolen. No arrests have been reported and none of the victims have been transported to a hospital for treatment.

Deputies are searching for a fourth victim who appears to have left the home before deputies arrived.

Deputies were at the home in February and found 100 or so marijuana plants, Troyer said. There was a claim that the plants were for medical marijuana purposes.

Investigators suspect today’s incident could have been drug-related, Troyer said.

Based on that and the different descriptions of the suspects, detectives do not believe it’s related to Wednesday night’s home-invasion robbery in Edgewood that killed a 43-year-old husband and father.

I’ve got a 20″ 12G shotgun on standby, all firing lanes having been pre-determined. Were somebody to break thru my front door, there’ll be no questions asked.

Gee, I am not violent but this crap is getting to me. I have become pro death penalty and have loaded my own gun! That gun has been stored for 40 years!!! If this state can’t provide law that call for the death penalty and life w/o parol then you leave us no choice. All of us are plain fed up with these slim@ss guys living off of all of us that work or worse, those that have nothing or can’t work. Time has come! I am so angry, I doubt I’d back down and just go balistic on them and I am a woman and only 4’11″tall and over 65. I will NOT live in fear. I didn’t work my whole life to live in fear or give up what I worked for. I have truly had it. Give the police the laws they need and the equipment they need to prosecute these punks. No, don’t care if you cry a river. I had a horrible childhood (who hasn’t), played by all the rules, didn’t lie or steal or sleep my way to the top. I did it with good old fashioned scruples and hard work. Not for them to just help themselves to whatever they want or take. I am blind mad at this stuff.

  4. i wish they would come by my place i got a little friend to show them

So the guy was probably selling weed and these guys thought they would pick up some free plus the money the guy made. That still doesn’t give them the right.

Ok I am friends with the people this happened to. First of all I am outraged that the police keep bring up drugs, really though is this a ploy to make better news. how about instead of saying why they think it happened, the police should put more time in & just find the *@&% who did this.
