Although northbound Interstate 5 in Lacey and Lakewood will not be closed this weekend as previously planned, drivers can expect lane shutdowns in both directions Friday through Sunday morning.

WSDOT crews have been replacing 25.5 miles of concrete panels in the lanes between Thurston and Pierce counties.

In Lacey, the following traffic delays are anticipated on northbound I-5 between Martin Way and Nisqually, depending on the weather:

  • double-lane closures 7 p.m. Friday to 11 a.m. Saturday
  • double-lane closures 7 p.m. Saturday to noon Sunday
  • closure of the Marvin Road on-ramp 11 p.m. Saturday to 11 a.m. Sunday.

Southbound I-5 in Lacey will be partially closed 9 p.m. Friday to 9 a.m. Saturday. The southbound Marvin Road off-ramp closes from 9 p.m. Friday to 9 a.m. Saturday.

Lakewood drivers should plan for triple-lane closures from 7 p.m. Saturday to 8 a.m. Sunday between 48th Street and Gravelly Lake Drive.
