Pierce County prosecutors have charged a 26-year-old woman with robbery, alleging she held up a small grocery store Wednesday.

Erin Finch was charged Thursday with one count of first-degree robbery. She’s being held in Pierce County Jail in lieu of $30,000 bail.

Charging documents provide the following information:

The owner of Express Grocery, 15914 94th Ave. Court E., reported that a woman walked up to the counter and put her hand in the front pocket of the black hooded sweatshirt she wore. The woman pointed something at the owner and the owner thought it was a gun.

The robber, later identified as Finch, demanded cash. She wore a black beanie over her head and a red shirt over her face.

The owner provided cash from the register and the robber fled. The owner followed her to the parking lot, got the license plate of the getaway car and provided the information to responding deputies.

Deputies discovered that the registered owner of the vehicle was Finch. They went to her house and talked to her husband.

Deputies later stopped a vehicle that Finch was driving. She was arrested and told deputies she had many illnesses and pain that she suffers.
