Local clergy will gather this morning for a Moment of Blessing ceremony for a young man killed last month in a South Tacoma alley.

The brief, spiritual ceremony for Saul Lucas-Alfonso, 25, begins at 11 a.m. today in the alley of the 7000 block of South Puget Sound Avenue.

Lucas-Alfonso was fatally shot in the alley early on March 25. Pierce County prosecutors have charged four men and a teenage boy with second-degree murder in the case. Arrest warrants for the four men have been issued. They remain on the loose.

Associated Ministries hosts Moments of Blessing ceremonies at the places where people are killed in Pierce County. The events are open to the public. They are intended to cleanse the place where the homicide occurred and provide support to the victim’s family, friends and the neighborhood where the crime happened.
