Fire raced through a three-car garage on the Key Peninsula this morning, leaving the structure in ruins, firefighters reported.

The blaze broke out about 5 a.m. in the 14500 block of 82nd Avenue Northwest near Gig Harbor, according to news release from the Key Peninsula Fire Department.

Firefighters arrived to find the garage fully involved in fire. They were able to prevent the flames from spreading to another garage nearby.

No one was hurt. The cause is under investigation.

Ill bet the outcome of this fire could have been different if the voters on the Key Peninsula would have voted yes on their last fire levy. Now all of the crews are stationed down south in Home, leaving the north end of the Key Peninsula dangerously uncovered! Lets hope the upcoming EMS levy passes or they could be waiting MUCH longer for an ambulance!

Our weather was horrid that day and a mighty early wake up call. The fire fighters sure get a workout in all kinds of weather putting down fires.
