Calvary Lutheran Church in Federal Way will host a candlelight vigil Wednesday night for a 38-year-old woman who was fatally shot last week during a counseling session at the church.

The vigil in memory of Carol Parsons begins at 5:45 p.m. at the church, 2415 S. 320th St. King County prosecutors have charged Parsons’ ex-husband, 41-year-old Charles Parsons, with first-degree murder in connection with the deadly shooting last Wednesday.

“Please join us as we sing hymns, listen to scriptural words of hope, pray together, and voice our grief and thanksgiving for Carol’s life,”  Lori A. Cornell, pastor at Calvary Lutheran Church, wrote in an e-mail.
