WHAT WAS THAT: Police chase last night in Lakewood

I had an e-mail this morning from our night editor, who overheard on the scanner a high-speed chase in Lakewood Tuesday night.

In case you saw or heard about it too, here’s the scoop.

Lakewood police Lt. Heidi Hoffman reports that a Lakewood officer spotted a stolen vehicle in the 8800 block of South Tacoma Way. The vehicle turned east onto 84th Street. As it approached Interstate 5, the officer and a sergeant initiated a traffic stop.

The car didn’t stop and got onto southbound I-5, Hoffman said. The car got off on Thorne Lane and drove into the Woodbrook area.

“Instead of turning onto 150th, it went to the logistic gate where it was pinned,” Hoffman said.

Officers arrested the driver and passenger.

No injuries were reported.
