A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a 19-year-old man suspected of causing a November Pierce County car wreck in which one of his passengers died.

The warrant, issued Friday, charges Jerry E.T. Williams-Reyes with one count each of vehicular homicide, failure to remain at an accident resulting in death and vehicular assault.

Pierce County sheriff’s deputies suspect Williams-Reyes was behind the wheel of a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer that blew a red light at Portland Avenue East and 97th Street East in the Midland area on Nov. 25 and collided with another car.

Heracleo Rodriguez, 19, died in the wreck. A girl also in the Trailblazer suffered a broken leg.

Williams-Reyes fled the scene before police arrived.
