Memorial service Saturday for Spanaway pastor killed in crash

The memorial service for a Spanaway pastor who died in a motorcycle accident in Roy will be held Saturday afternoon.

Thom Carlson, 43, of Puyallup was riding his motorcycle Feb. 20  at the 32100 block of Eighth Avenue South when he hit a car pulling into the parking lot of the Lacamas Community Club. He was taken to a hospital, where he died of his injuries.

Carlson served as pastor in the Real Life Family Center for six years.

The service will take place 2 p.m. at the Church for All Nations, 111 112th St. E, Tacoma.

Friends and family are holding a viewing Thursday 1 to 8 p.m. at the New Tacoma Cemeteries and Funeral Home, 9212 Chambers Creek Road, University Place.

Carlson leaves behind Sheri, his wife of 21 years.
