It appears another one of the suspected gang members sought in a sizable crackdown has been arrested.

He was booked into Pierce County Jail on Tuesday night.

That would make 12 gang members arrested Tuesday in a sweep. Four were still being sought. Others were already in Pierce County Jail, awaiting trial on other charges.

They are among 32 members of the Hilltop Crips charged in a criminal conspiracy case. Investigators and prosecutors allege the members were involved in a series of violent crimes in Tacoma since 2008.

Those in custody will be arraigned this morning on the charges.

A news conference is scheduled for 3 p.m. at Tacoma Police Headquarters. Law enforcement officials will be talking about the case.

UPDATE FROM ARRAIGNMENTS: The defendants are entering not guilty pleas. As the suspects are being arraigned, they are being ordered held on $1 million bail.

Security is tight in the courtroom. One of the defendants got upset and was escorted out. A supporter of one of the defendants has also been escorted from the courtroom.
