A Federal Way man accused of shooting two people—and killing one—in the city Jan. 17 was charged Friday with second-degree murder and first-degree assault charges.

King County prosecutors allege Edgar Daniel Sanchez, 21, also known as “Sharkie,”  shot two men just before 4:30 a.m. in the 30800 block of 20th Avenue South. An argument broke out in the front yard of a house where a party had been held and escalated into gunfire, police said.

Investigators found the two victims inside the house: David Martinez, 29, was lying on the kitchen floor, with a gunshot wound to his side and head injuries. Martinez was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where he underwent surgery.

Martinez’s brother, Irving Omar Plascencia, 17, was found in the laundry room, with gunshot wounds to the torso. He was pronounced dead on scene.

Sanchez is described as 5 feet 7 inches and about 260 pounds, with tattoos on his shoulder and forearm. Friends and family members suspect he may have fled to Chicago or Mexico, according to the police report.
