Suspect who tried to steal a large flat screen TV from a Tillicum restaurant

Lakewood police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a burglar who tried and tried to pry a large flat-screen TV out of a Tillicum restaurant, then stolen soda and energy drinks instead.

A surveillance camera captured the Jan. 25 burglary at the Wok In Wok Out in the 15200 block of Union Avenue Southwest.

The burglary occurred about 4:45 a.m. The suspect smashed out the large front window and crawled inside, police reported.

He climbed onto a chair and repeatedly tugged at the large flat-screen TV positioned on a shelf. He got the TV screen down but didn’t get it out of a window.

The burglar stole a case of soda and a case of energy drinks.

The bandit is described as a white or Hispanic man, 20 to 25 years old and with a shaved head. He wore a light blue jacket, blue jeans, gloves and a bandana over his face during the robbery.

He was working so hard to get the TV loose that the bandana slipped down a couple of times.

Tacoma-Pierce County Crime Stoppers is offering up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest and charges filed in the case. Tipsters may remain anonymous.

Reach Crime Stoppers at 253-591-5959.
