In recent days, Pierce County law enforcement officers have captured three men featured on the Q 13′s show “Washington’s Most Wanted.”

The most recent arrest was Friday night. Tacoma police received a tip from the show about the whereabouts of Michael Maloy, who had been convicted of manslaughter in his ex-girlfriend’s death and was wanted on a felony escape warrant.

Several officers went to the 2300 block of Sixth Avenue about 10:30 p.m. Friday and arrested Maloy without incident, Tacoma police reported.

On Thursday night, the FBI’s South Sound Gang Task Force arrested two other men who had been featured on Washington’s Most Wanted.

The task force had received tips about the location of Garry Ward, who had led from Washington State Patrol troopers on a high-speed chase in May 2008 that ended in a crash. A 2-year-old boy was injured and hospitalized in the crash.

Ward ran from the crash scene and a warrant had been issued in July 2008 for his arrest on eluding, injury hit-and-run and driving with a suspended license.

The gang task force received tips on Ward’s whereabouts. They contacted Ward and he ran, jumping over fences and through dark roads, the TV show reported.

A state Department of Corrections specialist tracked Ward’s footprints after he lost a shoe in the mud. Ward was found a short time later.

“He had apparently mistakenly jumped into a backyard full of German Shepherds specially trained to attack on command,” the TV show reported. “Ward was able to escape the yard of dogs and was then taken into custody.”

Ward was arrested in the 1800 block of 72nd Street East.

Also Thursday night, Pierce County officers arrested Jamal Henry, a suspected gang member who was wanted for escaping state Department of Corrections custody. Henry had been convicted in connection with a 2007 drive-by shooting that injured a rival gang member.

A Washington’s Most Wanted viewer provided the gang task force with information about where Henry was located.

Henry was arrested in the 15100 block of Portland Avenue Southwest in Lakewood.

    Probably not exactly what they wanted…a moment of fame on TV.

  2. wasn’t it Gary Ward that had a wrong way accident on I-5 in Oct 2008. Where 2 people died. I think the story said he was on his way to work at Boeing, and he had been drinking and smoking pot. Father and son or an unlucky coincidence on the names. Anyone???

    @mab,

    Yes, it IS father and son. Both slices of trash. :)
