A Sumner woman has been critically injured after a single-car crash near Buckley Saturday night.

Around 9 p.m., the 30-year-old woman’s 2001 Mazda was northbound on State Route 165 approaching 133rd Street Court East when the car drifted off the roadway and crashed into a tree. East Pierce Fire and Rescue crews extricated the driver, the only person in the car, and transported her to the trauma center at Madigan Army Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

Washington State Patrol is investigating the cause of the accident.
