Local clergy will hold a Moment of Blessing next month at the scene where 3-month-old Jayden Thomas Wayman suffered fatal injuries in a car wreck Sunday.

The ceremony for Jayden will take place at 10 a.m. Feb. 11 at the intersection of 20th Street East and 70th Avenue East in Fife, Associated Ministries announced today.

He died Tuesday from injuries suffered when the car he was riding in was struck by another vehicle. The driver of the second car has been charged with vehicular homicide and other crimes.

Associated Ministries created the Moment of Blessing ceremony as a way to cleanse the places where homicides occur in Pierce County. The brief, spiritual ceremony offers support to the victim’s family and friends and the community where the crime occurred.

The events are open to the public.
