Lakewood police have arrested two people suspected in a burglary after a pursuit that ended on Interstate 5.

The pursuit ended a short time ago.

The passenger in the suspect vehicle had decided to get out of the vehicle near a restaurant on Pacific Avenue and State Route 512.

“We have both of them in custody,” Lakewood police Lt. Heidi Hoffman reports.

Traffic is backed up on I-5.

UPDATE: The activity blocked the two left lanes of northbound I-5. The activity has been cleared and the lanes reopened to traffic.

Traffic is backed up three miles.

UPDATE No. 2: The incident began as a residential burglary. The victim is known to the driver of the getaway vehicle.

A Lakewood police officer performed a PIT maneuver to stop the suspect vehicle, Hoffman said.
