A helicopter is on its way to transport a trauma patient from Stadium High School to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

There are no details available about the patient or what caused the injury.

The incident happened at about 8 p.m. and reportedly involved a bus.

UPDATE: 9:13 p.m.: Our news partner, KIRO-TV is reporting the victim is a 53-year-old man who was getting off a bus, fell and hit his head.

I don’t understand. Tacoma General is 3 blocks from there. Is TG not equipped to handle a head injury?

  2. Tuffgal74 says:

Harborview is the only Level 1 trauma center in the state. So his injury must have been more severe than TG is equipped to handle.

  3. tacomahound says:

Tg already had a trauma patient. Flying is the option once tg has one.
