Pierce County Prosecutor Mark Lindquist announced this morning that he’ll file a charge of rendering criminal assistance today against the sister of the man who gunned down four Lakewood police officers Nov. 29.

Latanya Clemmons was arrested last week for investigation of her role in the aftermath of the slaying.

Lindquist said in a news release today that there is evidence she aided a man who served as the getaway driver for Maurice Clemmons by taking him to a motel room, giving him money for a bus ticket to Arkansas and telling him to “lay low.”

Clemmons is expected to plead not guilty. She’s currently jailed in lieu of $1.5 million bail.
