Former Pierce County Superior Court Judge Michael Hecht on Tuesday filed notice that he intends to appeal his convictions for felony harassment and patronizing a prostitute.
Hecht also will appeal his sentence, according to documents he filed in Pierce County Superior Court.
Hecht does not specify the basis for his appeal in the paperwork. He argued before, during and after his trial that witnesses against him lied on the stand or were coerced by police and prosecutors.
A jury deliberated for fewer than four hours before convicting Hecht as charged Oct. 28 after a six-day trial.
King County Judge James Cayce on Nov. 19 sentenced Hecht to perform 240 hours of community service, attend Pierce County’s “john school” and pay fines.
Hecht has agreed to pay $20 per month toward his $1,500 in court-ordered fines, according to records.
