A woman scared off an intruder in her Hilltop home early today after she yelled and fired a shot from her gun, Tacoma police reported.

The intruder wasn’t injured and ran out the back door. He has not been located, Tacoma police reported.

The incident occurred just after 12:30 a.m. Monday in the 2100 block of South L Street. The woman was in her living room when she heard noises at the back door, police reported.

She got her gun from her bedroom and went to investigate the noise. The woman found a man standing in her kitchen, police reported.

The intruder was about 6 feet tall and had a medium build. He wore a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt with the hood over his head, police reported.

The woman yelled and fired one shot from her gun. The shot hit the dishwasher.

The intruder fled. Officers searched the area for the man but no arrest was reported.

Robber is looking for clean shorts, dishwasher is resting comfortably at home from gunshot, homeowner is at the firing range learning to shoot straight.

LOL… he won’t break into that house again!!!! Good job homeowner!!! I’m sure if she really wanted to shoot him she could have, but instead she shot the dishwasher. Maybe killing 2 birds with 1 stone…scare intruder AND get a new dishwasher for Christmas.

Armed citizen wins another one. Way to go, Lady.
Now, spend some time at the Bull’s Eye indoor range to improve that accuracy.

Thumbs up, TNT. Nice to see a positive story about a law abiding, gun toting home owner, protecting herself.

Homeowners: less burglaries and home invasions would occur if this story were the standard story every time some turd wants to get in your house.

    Log it.

How about including real descriptions in such articles. Male and a height and a sweat shirt, but not race or anything else?

It may have been the first time she have ever pulled a trigger. At least she didn’t hesitate to shoot. Now she need to take the time to practice her markmanship.

I bet she won’t miss again.
