Agents at the U.S.-Canadian border have also been on the lookout for Maurice Clemmons.

They’ve been running “outbound operations,” meaning they are checking people and good leaving the United States, said Chief Thomas Schreiber with U.S. Customs and Protection.

The agency runs outbound operations when they have the resources or there is a priority.

“This is a priority emphasis,” Schreiber said. “We will continue to do that until such time as we are told to stand down.”

“Our hearts and thoughts go out to the families,” he added.
