Lakewood Police Chief Bret Farrar will hold a press conference this morning at police headquarters.

The flag at one Central Pierce Fire & Rescue station was flying at half-staff.

Jim Pemberton sent us this poem he wrote:

Our Thoughts And Prayers Are With You…

Our thoughts and prayers are
with the officers who’ve fallin.’
They served a higher duty…
A higher callin.’

We pray that God will speak
his love to their families too.
We’re thankful for them,
and everythingl they do…

Much thanks
and gratitude
have already been given…
They brought duty and honor
in the way they were livin.’

We ask you Lord…
to give them your grace
May your light shine on them..
And keep them in a special place!

We don’t clearly know why things
happened that particular day…
Through the sorrow…
We ask God to make a way.

A way that will make his
goodness very certain.
To the many lives of those
who are hurtin.’

May you dear Lord, touch the hearts
of the Lakewood Police.
And grant unto them a double
portion of your peace…

We’re forever grateful
for their
service and dedication…
And give to them this poem with
a heart of appreciation!
