Memorial at gas station near shooting scene

A makeshift memorial for the four fallen Lakewood officers has begun in the parking lot of the 76 gas station food mart, down the street from the Forza coffee shop.

“We love you. Our prayers are with you,” a handwritten sign reads.

Cathy McFadden of Redmond tied black ribbons to a light standard where the sign posted. McFadden is a police explorer for the Redmond Police Department and came to Parkland with her mother, Mari McFadden, to “show respect for police officers.”

The mother and daughter will be handing out the black ribbons to officers.
