Seven hundred people met tonight at Champions Centre in South Tacoma for prayers and words of comfort.
There were several uniformed police officers, including Tacoma police and Washington State Patrol, were in attendance.
Participants went up to the officers, offering thanks for their service.
My prayers are with the families and co-workers of the murdered officers. These men and women lost their lives protecting us, and we need to all show our gratitude and thanks. This is the least we can do for those who do so much.
These crimes and the resultant deaths diminish us all. Our hearts are heavy and we send our deepest consolences to the families, their law enforcement family and friends, and all who suffer these tremendous losses. We await justice that hopefully will be swift and sure. The rippling effect of this horrific tragedy spreads out across our land like a wildfire, and we pray that with all the compassion and caring of others, those in grief may be comforted in knowing that so many others care about all of you. As a volunteer at a LE agency for the State of California, I know that the Parkland Police Dept. family will remain strong and supportive of the families and each other for a long, long time. Bless you all!
