Tacoma police were searching for a man who robbed a Stadium District bank this afternoon.

The man entered the Columbia Bank, 601 N. First St., about 12:50 p.m. He implied he had a weapon and demanded cash from the branch, Tacoma police spokesman Mark Fulghum said.

The robber fled. He’s described as black, in his early 40s and 5 feet 11 with a slim build. He wore glasses, a black-and-red knit cap and black jacket with a red stripe.

A police dog responded to the scene and conducted a track. There are indications the bank robber left in a vehicle parked nearby, Fulghum said.

No arrest has been reported.
