The flags on all state agency buildings will be lowered today in honor of a state Department of Transportation worker who was killed Thursday when he was hit by a falling tree limb while cleaning up storm debris east of Port Angeles.

Neal Richards, 42, was a maintenance lead technician and father of two. He and several workers were working to clear a land slide on U.S. 101 near Indian Hill.

Flags will remain at half staff until the end of business today or first thing Tuesday, the governor's office announced last week.
