Fife police are also searching for a bank robber this afternoon.
The robbery occurred a short time ago.
We’ll provide more details when they become available.
UPDATE: According to Fife police, a man walked into the Bank of America, 5003 Pacific Highway E., just after 2 p.m. He presented a teller with a note that demanded cash and threatened to hurt someone if the demand was not meant, Fife police Lt. Tom Thompson said.
The teller handed the robber cash and he fled out the door.
Witnesses reported the suspect ran across Pacific Highway East and got into a car parked in a fast-food restaurant. The car drove away.
The robber dropped a small amount of the stolen money, which was recovered by officers, Thompson said.
The bandit did not show a weapon during the robbery.
The robber was described as black, in his mid-30s and about 5 feet 8. He wore a blue shirt, tan painter-type pants and a black Detroit Tigers baseball cap.
Fife police were working to get surveillance photos of the robbery suspect.
They should give these bank robbers a stack of ones and put a hundred on the first bill, would be funny to see their faces when they know that its only like 234 dollars. Why not? Criminals are not smart enough to look at the money, their main concern is to make sure there are bills in the hand and to make a quick exit.
