Area law enforcement agencies are trying to identify a man who is suspected in at least two bank robberies in recent days.

Tacoma-Pierce County Crime Stoppers is offering up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest and charges filed in the case.

Investigators believe the same man robbed a Tacoma credit union last week and a Federal Way bank Saturday.

The Tacoma robbery occurred Thursday at 12:30 p.m. at the South Community Bank, 2941 S. 38th St. The robber entered the bank, pointed at a teller and demanded cash. The suspect told the teller to hurry up, grabbed the cash and fled.

The Federal Way robbery occurred about 11 a.m. Saturday at the Key Bank, 32400 Pacific Highway S. Like in the Tacoma robbery, the suspect entered the bank, approached a teller and said he was robbing the branch.

The teller questioned the man and he repeated the robbery demand. The robber then lunged over the counter, grabbed cash from the drawer and fled.

No weapons have been seen or implied in the two robberies.

The bank robber is described as a Hispanic or light-skinned black man in his 30s and 5 feet 10 to 6 feet tall with a thin build. He has black hair.

During the Tacoma robbery, he wore a denim jacket with khaki sleeves, dark blue jeans, sunglasses and a dark baseball hat. In the Federal Way robbery, he wore a black baseball hat, black puffy jacket and blue jeans.

Police ask anyone with information on the robber’s identity to call Crime Stoppers at 253-591-5959. Tipsters may remain anonymous.
