Pierce County District Court employees will be on furlough today as part of a budget-cutting effort.

It’s the first of three furlough days for the court employees. The other two days are Nov. 12 and Dec. 24.

Today, and the other two furloughs day, the court will not be open for public payments, filings or other related matters. The court will hold in-custody arraignment hearings.

We sincerely regret this disruption in service, and highly value the importance of public access to the Court.

  1. I support this move. Its very clear that working holidays are less productive. Its fiscally responsible. Ok, whats next?

Thanks for the fyi…It’s helps to know when large organizations have a non-work day.
