A 40-year-old woman was killed Thursday afternoon after a fiery crash near Lake Tapps.

The woman was driving a 2008 Lexus at an extremely high rate of speed when it left the road on the 4700 block of 218th Ave. East and crashed into a tree. Witnesses were able to pull her from the car before it was engulfed in flames. She was pronounced dead at a Tacoma hosital, Pierce County Sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer said.

Family members told investigators that the woman was emotionally distraught when she began to drive, Troyer said. There were no signs of braking at the scene, and officers are continuing to investigate the crash.

I personally know this family, she was a loving mother and wife and she was not “rich” her husband is a hardworking man. She leaves behind two young children who will hopefully never read your horrible words! How unfortunate that some people are so miserable and lonely that they have to say cruel things about people.

Show the family some respect and keep your worthless comments to yourself

High rate of speed? Well, at least nobody else was involved in the crash. As somebody who lives in the area I can definitely say the number of people driving extremely recklessly around that curve (and everywhere) is becoming ridiculous.

I wish people could learn from the tragic mistakes others make (two young men died in virtually the same place just this summer and speed was also a factor).

I’ve had people pass me on that curve. There isn’t anywhere anybody needs to get to fast enough to endanger their own life and others.
