UPDATE 12:30 p.m.: The search for the suspected bank robber has been called off, according to a Tacoma police spokesman. A K-9 unit was brought in but the man eluded police, he said.
Police asked that the Head Start School at the old Madison school, 3102 So. 43rd St, be locked down when the robber fled in that direction. The lock down didn't last long and children were dismissed early as planned at 12:15 p.m.
The robbery occurred at Community First Credit Union at South 47th Street and South Pine Street.

So that explains why there were so many police cars in my neighborhood.
