Lakewood police are searching for a man in connection with a shooting Wednesday night that they are calling gang-related.

A man in his 20s was shot in the arm during a fight that erupted about 9:30 p.m. at 92nd Street South and South Tacoma Way, according to Lt. Heidi Hoffman with the Lakewood police.

The wound was non-life threatening and the victim was taken to a local hospital, she said.

The shooter ran from the scene. Hoffman said police brought in a K-9 unit which searched around the nearby Sage Terrace Apartments. The man wasn’t found.

Hoffman said the shooting appears to be gang-related and there is talk of “retaliation.” She said police will increase patrols in the area.
