Man killed in Friday afternoon crash identified

A man killed Friday afternoon in a one-car crash on the Sumner-Buckley Highway has been identified as Michael Tillett.

Tillett, 50, was a resident of Buckley, the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office reported today.

Tillett died about 4 p.m. Friday when his Jeep went off the road in the 27600 block of the Sumner-Buckley Highway and rolled several times before stopping in a field.

The Pierce County Sheriff’s Department was investigating.
