Paving work means overnight delays on I-5 in Pierce County this week

Drivers traveling Interstate 5 between DuPont and Tacoma can expect overnight lane and ramp closures this week for paving.

Tuesday, Sept. 29 – Wednesday, Sept. 30
• Right lane closed on northbound I-5, between Steilacoom DuPont Road and the Fort Lewis main gate, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
• Northbound I-5 off-ramp to Steilacoom DuPont Road (exit 119) closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
• Northbound I-5 on- and off-ramps at Fort Lewis main gate remain open, but the main gate circle ramp to North Fort Lewis will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Wednesday, Sept. 30 – Thursday, Oct. 1
• Two left lanes closed southbound I-5, from Steilacoom DuPont Road to Mounts Road, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Thursday, Oct. 1 – Friday, Oct. 2
• Two right lanes closed southbound I-5, between Steilacoom DuPont Road and Mounts Road, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
• Southbound I-5 off-ramp at Steilacoom DuPont Road (exit 119), on- and off-ramps at Center Drive (exit 118) and off-ramp at Mounts Road (exit 116) close intermittently from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Please note crews will not close all the ramps simultaneously.

Friday, Oct. 2 – Saturday, Oct. 3
• Southbound I-5 on- and off-ramps at Thorne Lane (exit 123) will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Detour route is via Berkeley Street.
• Northbound I-5 on- and off-ramps at Thorne Lane remain open, but drivers exiting northbound I-5 will not be able to turn left. Detour route is via Gravelly Lake Drive, then back to Berkley Street.
