Members of the Tacoma Police Department’s SWAT team were called out early today after a man fled a traffic stop.

SWAT team members responded to a home in the 4300 block of East G Street after a wanted felon was believed to have fled inside, Tacoma police reported.

Officers set up containment and called for the SWAT team. The team used tear gas and a Taser to take the man into custody. He was checked out at a hospital, then booked into Pierce County Jail on suspicion of driving with a suspended license, obstructing a law enforcement officer and a felon in possession of a dangerous weapon.

Officers also arrested a woman on suspicion of rendering criminal assistance.
