Starting today, the public counter hours at the Civil/Infraction Division of the Pierce County District Court will be reduced because of continuing budget cutbacks.

The public counters at the Civil/Infraction Division, 1902 96th St. S., will be open from 9 a.m. to noon and from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. The walk-up window will be open from noon to 1:30 p.m. Employees can only help with payments of infractions and tolls and scheduling hearings. Civil and small claims services will not be available.

“We sincerely regret this disruption in service and highly value the importance of public access to the court,” a statement from Pierce County reads. “We hope this notice will decrease any inconvenience.”
