Tacoma police officers kept busy through New Year’s Eve and into the early morning hours of 2009 but report no major incidents.
First Night Out went “very well” in downtown Tacoma and without incident, police Lt. Bob Ruiz reported.
There was a slew of fireworks calls and a few reports of shots fired. No injuries were reported related to those calls.
“Officers remained busy running from call to call but nothing of major significance,” Ruiz reported on the department’s media line.
UPDATE: The Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office reports no new cases over night. That’s good news.
