The man who was shot twice May 18 by a shotgun has died of his injuries.
Prosecutors were reviewing whether to file additional charges against a man suspected of fatally shooting a 40-year-old man during a incident earlier this month.
S’ue Taulaupapa, 40, was shot twice with a shotgun May 18 during a confrontation inside a home in the 1700 block of South 55th Street. He died of his injuries May 22.
Tacoma police said Taulaupapa and another man went into the home uninvited. Taulaupapa assaulted a person inside the home, while the second man yelled for others, court documents state.
Taulaupapa was shot twice after kicking in a bathroom door. The shooter initially fled the scene but was later identified by detectives.
He was contacted Sunday about the events and told detectives that he fired at Taulaupapa when the victim appeared to reach for something in his clothing, court documents state.
Prosecutors charged Thomas Joseph Kelderhouse, 24, on Tuesday with two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm but continued to review whether he should be charged in the homicide.
Kelderhouse was being held in Pierce County Jail in lieu of $250,000 bail.
The second intruder was later identified and charged with first-degree burglary in connection with the incident. John Joseph Ironnecklace, 34, was being held in Pierce County Jail in lieu of $250,000 bail.
Taulaupapa’s death is the fourth homicide of the year in Tacoma.
