We don’t have a lot of information yet but Tacoma fire crews are on the scene of a fire along Marine View Drive.

The fire boat’s been called out.

The activity appears centered around Tyee Marina, 5618 Marine View Dr.

Tacoma police were responding to the scene.

A customer at Cliff House Restaurant reported the fire, which was on the beach side of Marine View Drive.

UPDATE:
The fire is mostly out.

This came in as a fully-involved structure fire. The structure – a three-story treehouse – sits on the beach down from Marine View Drive.

The fire spread into the foliage and moving toward Marine View Drive.

No injuries have been reported.

Our news partners, KIRO TV, sent up its helicopter and posted raw video of the fire on its web site.

UPDATE 2:
The treehouse had no power. Word has it it’s been used over the years as a kids’ hangout spot.

Tacoma fire officials were investigating the cause of the blaze.

UPDATE 3: The fire has been ruled accidental. It appears to have been started by a transient.

There was no dollar loss to the treehouse, which was made of driftwood.
