Several people called 911 on Tuesday night to report hearing five gunshots in the area of South 59th Street and Thompson Avenue.

The calls starting coming in a few minutes before 9 p.m., Tacoma police spokesman Mark Fulghum said.

According to the reports, witnesses believed that the shots were coming from a white newer-type vehicle. The suspects were shooting at a dark-colored Honda Civic-type vehicle.

There was no license plate information on either vehicle.

Officers responded to the area but found no victims and no suspects, Fulghum said. The vehicles were gone.

Some shell casings were found in the area.

Officers were looking at whether the shooting was related to a report of a stolen vehicle in the area.
