The family of the 75-year-old Federal Way woman who was killed in March released this statement after the arrest of a nursing assistant who worked at the Alzheimer’s facility where her husband lived.

We were shocked by the sudden and senseless crime that took the life of

our beloved mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Today we are saddened to learn a worker from the care facility she was visiting that night has been arrested in connection with her death.

The Britt family would like to publicly thank the police officers,

detectives, investigators, and prosecutors for their non-stop work to bring about this arrest. They have treated us with the utmost professionalism, respect, and care. The outpouring of support from our extended church family and the Federal Way community has also been a great comfort to us.

Now as the investigation goes into its next phase we would again ask that the media respect our privacy. It has been a difficult month and there will likely be more difficult days ahead. We too wait anxiously to learn why someone would choose to take the innocent life of our elegant, caring, and beloved Jane.
