Speeding car hits tree on Highway 512

A 26-year-old man was injured Sunday night when his car left Highway 512 at a high-rate of speed and struck a tree, the Washington State Patrol reported.


The man was taken to St. Joseph Medical Center for treatment. His car was totaled and impounded by troopers.


The crash occurred about 6:40 p.m. Sunday. The man was westbound on Highway 512. He left the roadway at Portland Avenue at struck a tree.


Troopers were investigating whether drugs or alcohol was involved.
