Lights & Sirens checked out the following reader inquiry:

… but between 12:30 am and 1:00 am last night there were at least three police cars speeding around my neighborhood at South 60th and Oakes.

Judging by the time this e-mail was sent, it appears the activity was early Sunday.

Tacoma police spokesman Mark Fulghum reported the following:

Officers were searching for a man wanted for robbery. He ran from officers after dumping his car in the area of South 60th and Oakes streets.

TPD set up a containment area and called for a police dog. The suspect was taken into custody and booked into the jail.
