Before someone asks, here’s the low down on a car crash early Monday in the South End.

A car struck a light pole at South 78th and Hosmer streets just after 3 a.m., Tacoma police spokesman Mark Fulghum said. The driver and any other occupants immediately fled.

The crash caused “substantial damage” to the car, Fulghum said.

It also took out the power pole, which was knocked down. Electricity was knocked out along the Hosmer corridor for more than an hour.

Because those involved didn’t stick around, we don’t know if anyone was injured. Obviously, though, no one was too injured.
