Bungling Burglar Caught On Video

Dear Mr. Ineffectual Burglar, this is to inform you that your 15 minutes just started.

Pierce County Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help identifying a would-be burglar who failed (and failed and failed) to break into a Lakewood coffee shop.

Sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer said Tuesday the matter came to his attention after security video footage was posted on YouTube.com.

By Tuesday, the video from Perk Central, 8904 South Tacoma Way, had been viewed more than 2,800 times.

The poster even recorded his own snappy narration making fun of the would-be bandit and calling him Captain Jack Sparrow because of his bandana.

"Look at me put my fingerprints on the window," the narrator mocks just before the thief gives it a wimpy elbow that doesn’t break the glass.

Those with information were urged to call Crime Stoppers at 591-5959. Tipsters could earn a reward of up to $1,000.

And, if you think you’re funnier than the narrator, record your own soundtrack or video response and post it in the comments section.
