It’s Zina.

The disappearance and murder of the 12-year-old Tacoma girl received more votes – 52– than all the other nominees combined in the Lights & Sirens’ inaugural Top Crime Story of the Year survey.

In all, 96 L&S readers cast votes in the survey.

The November deaths of Brian and Beverly Mauck of Graham received the second-most votes, with 21.

Also receiving votes:

The Foss High School shooting (3), Semaj Booker (4), Craigslist vandalism (5), cellphone stalking (3), Jennifer Rice (2), pitbull attack (2) and Weldon Marc Gilbert (4).

Thanks for participating.
