Philip Dosskey was recently booked into the Pierce County jail and charged with retail theft with extenuating circumstances.

According to a prosecutor’s affidavit, Dosskey’s modus operandi is to walk into a Lowe’s store empty handed, grab merchandise off the shelf and return it. In at least some instances, he used his real ID, court records say.

The affidavit documents six transaction in local Lowe’s stores dating back to February. He allegedly made off with more than $4,900.

But the real kicker comes at the end of the affidavit:

“NOTE: The defendant is also a suspect in 44 other transactions at Lowe’s stores around the state. These transactions have accumulated a loss to Lowe’s in the amount of $22,741.13.”
