Stanley Elementary School, 1712 S. 17th St., is the near the scene of the Tacoma police standoff South 19th Street and Sprague Avenue.

School is not delayed at this point.

Tacoma School District spokeswoman Leanna Albrecht encouraged families with walkers in the neighborhood to either walk their child or drive their child to school Wednesday morning.

Albrecht said as far as she knows, there are no walkers from near the police scene.

District security guards will be out around the school to assist parents and students.

The district’s transportation folks also have been notified about the street and ramp closures.
